“Maidenhead needs a 21st Century St Marks Hospital”, Kathy Newbound is demanding. At the moment the people that run St Marks are working on plans for the future of St Marks. “Now is the time to make your voice heard,” says Kathy Newbound. “We must not wait till all the decisions have been made. We must make it clear that Maidenhead needs a 21st Century hospital with all the facilities that a hospital should have.” Maidenhead needs Accident and Emergency facilities. Currently the nearest A & E is at Wexham Park, the other side of Slough. Even if their was a Minor Injuries Unit, it would be an improvement. Minor operations could also be carried out at St Marks, and outpatients should be able to see any NHS consultant at St Marks, without having to go to travel miles.
